Digital Preservation Policy

Journal of Environmental Accounting and Management is committed to maintaining access to its scholarly record beyond the operating life of the current website. Preservation planning covers published article metadata, versions of record, issue materials, hosted supplementary files, and linked correction, retraction, or other post-publication notices.

LOCKSS publisher manifest

The journal exposes an OJS LOCKSS Publisher Manifest that permits LOCKSS-compatible preservation systems to collect, preserve, and serve eligible published content.

A functioning publisher manifest is technical preparation for harvesting. It is not, by itself, evidence that a preservation network has completed a deposit. L&H will only describe content as deposited when the receiving network reports a successful archival status.

Enabled on this OJS installation.
PKP Preservation Network
Enabled on the production site; initial network registration pending. The official OJS 3.5-compatible PKP PN plugin (4.0.0.0) is installed, and the publisher accepted the network terms for all four journals on 13 September 2026. A daily task checks registration, prepares eligible published issues, submits deposits when the network permits, and checks processing status. No completed archival deposit has yet been verified. Local development copies do not submit to the network.

Operational continuity

Operational backups of the journal database and article files support service recovery but do not replace independent preservation. DOI landing pages, article identifiers, bibliographic metadata, licenses, and post-publication notices should remain stable during platform migration or restoration. Any replacement platform must preserve existing article URLs or provide permanent redirects.

Monitoring and transparency

Automated checks run daily. The publisher will review pending or failed deposits at least monthly and after platform upgrades, and will verify preservation coverage annually. This page will be updated with the most recent verified archival deposit date when the network confirms completion. Failed or incomplete deposits will not be represented as successful preservation.
