Author Guidelines

Discontinuity, Nonlinearity, and Complexity accepts original research papers within the journal's aims and scope. Manuscripts should be written in clear English and prepared using the journal's Manuscript Template available from the About menu.

Before submission

  • Prepare one complete manuscript file containing the title, abstract, main text, references, tables, and figure captions.
  • Provide the full name, affiliation, email address, and contribution of every author. ORCID iDs are strongly encouraged.
  • Confirm that every listed author has approved the manuscript and that the work is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Provide keywords, funding information, a competing-interests statement, and a data-availability statement.
  • Obtain permission for any copyrighted material included in the submission.

The journal uses single-anonymous peer review: reviewers can see author identities, while reviewer identities remain confidential. Authors may suggest qualified reviewers, but editors make all reviewer selections independently.

If the paper is accepted, the corresponding author will be asked to complete the journal's Copyright Form and provide publication-ready files.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements:

  • The manuscript fits the journal's aims and scope and follows the Manuscript Template.
  • The work is original, has not been published, and is not under consideration by another journal.
  • All authors have approved the submission and their names, affiliations, emails, and contributions are accurate.
  • The manuscript includes an abstract, keywords, numbered tables and figures, and all required permissions.
  • Funding, competing interests, research ethics, and data availability are disclosed accurately.
